Anthony Nicholson Nucleus Scene 1 cover

Soul nourishing grooves created by the likes of Anthony Nicholson are a world away from the half baked superficial crap that most people now call ‘Deep House’. Since the 1990s, both Osunlade and Anthony Nicholson have been making music that speaks to the spirit. They understand how musicality, melody and complex rhythmic arrangements can nourish dancers and home listeners. Anthony Nicholson and Osunlade continue to make these types of records in the 2020s, when most producers think bland is best! Nucleus Scene 1 is a deep and complex composition, with probing synths, layered percussion and spinning keys. The Yoruba Soul Mix recruits friends to embellish the grooves with guitars and vocals, amongst other things. The Yoruba Soul Suite is a slightly more restrained take, but still in the same ballpark. Morocco’s Cee ElAssaad calls on luxurious piano keys to colour his remix. Simply put, Nucleus Scene 1 is a winner!
