Osunlade Moss Cover

I have waited years for Osunlade to make an album like MOSS. Recorded on an iPAD during lockdown, this is Osunlade stripped to the core. I fell in love with his music two decades ago because of his ability to create simple yet emotive melodies and rhythms. Osunlade puts his heart and soul into making music and it shows. Who else can make something so simple yet so beautiful? As always, it’s about that swing. Grooves that lock you in and won’t let go. This album reminds me of Power To Conquer, Cantos A Ochun Et Oya, Pride and all those other early Osunlade bangers. MOSS is literally groove after groove after groove. If you are looking for complicated concepts and musicianship, then check the other three albums Osunlade made during the shutdown. MOSS is about music that puts a smile on your face and a good feeling in your gut. This is nourishing musical soul food. Tom’s Bar opens the album spectacularly with a lilting guitarred groove and clean layered percussion. ELYODCIRE is moodier, with thoughtful closely held keys and a tight groove. FLWN is a gorgeous little number that moves just right. MOSS is magical LP that cries out to be played again and again.
